A photo-round up from the PestWorld 2019 exhibition

As well as the new products to be spotted at the exhibition, there was a whole variety of stands to visit and staff members to catch up with. Watch out for the forthcoming edition of Pest magazine – issue 66, due out early December – where more, particularly from the UK, will feature.
    The formal bit…
Delegates were led into the exhibition by a mariachi band. The organisers, NPMA, had a large stand (booth) at the back of the hall, below right.

    Multi-nationals out in force
As to be expected, all the big multi-national companies had elaborate stands and displays. Left to right below: Syngenta, BASF and Bayer.

    Families to the fore
But family-owned and run businesses still make up a significant part of the market. No more so than Bell Laboratories (below left) where Linda Hughes and Anne Connor (daughters of founder Malcolm Stack) were both present, as was Susan Oakes-Melton of JF Oakes (daughter of Jim Oakes) (centre) and the team from Kness, but unfortunatley Kathy (Kness) Wauson, grand-daughter of Kness founder, Austin Enos ‘Brick’ Kness was absent from the stand when the photo was taken.

    And from Europe too…
But it wasn’t just US family-owned companies with exhibition stands. Plastdiversity from Portugal is a regular exhibitor at PestWorld events, represented on this occassion by family member, Ricardo Fonseca (seen right in picture below left). Likewise PelGar from the UK is a regular exhibitor and has built a strong US presence. Seen (centre picture) with part of his international team is owner Gareth Capel-Williams (top left) with his wife Paola (lower left). First-time exhibitor this year was the OSD Group from Italy – with owners Daniela Pedrazzi and husband Paolo Gaibotti (below right).

    A bit of fun
But it wouldn’t be a PestWorld event if there weren’t some pests present nor some fun events. The mice on the Brandenburg stand reminded everyone what pests were, However, the ‘lady moth’ might have needed some monitoring, or you could try your hand on the pin ball machine courtesy of BASF!
