The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) has announced that Ian Andrew has been appointed as its new chief executive, effective 1 February 2018.

Before joining the Beech Centre, Ian worked for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) where he undertook a number of roles. These included: head of membership engagement. He has also held senior roles in the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Scottish Hotel and Catering Industry Training Board. And has plenty of experience in business development, training and development and client relations.

His most recent success at the Beech Centre has been leading on the application to Government to establish a new Institute for Organisational Development Practitioners.

Tom Holmes, BPCA President, commented: “I am thrilled that we have been able to recruit Ian as our new CEO. We received in excess of 100 applications for the role and interviewed a high calibre of shortlisted individuals. We are now in a strong position to turn our strategy into reality, and I look forward to welcoming Ian to the industry in February.”

Ian has extensive experience in lobbying and high-level representation with Westminster and the devolved administrations and has been a strong advocate for accreditation in his sector.

He takes over from Simon Forrester, who leaves BPCA on 19 January.

Ian said: “I am delighted to be joining BPCA at such an exciting time. Simon has moved the association on considerably during his tenure. My intention is to work closely with members to ensure that, as a sector, we continue to develop the assurance that clients and prospective clients have in BPCA members for the professional management of pests.”
