    Hungarian Pest Control Association clocks-up 20 years

    The Hungarian Pest Control Association (MaKOSZ) celebrated its 20th anniversary this October and to mark the occasion the association dedicated its annual conference to this achievement.

    The conference took place in Budapest, over the three days of 9, 10, and 11 October.

    Dr Dá¡niel Bajomi, President of MaKOSZ and managing director of rodenticide and insecticide manufacturer, Bá¡bolna Bio, gave a presentation on some of the key tasksthat had been completed and the goals achieved over the past 20 years.

    The Association was pleased to welcome Kevin Pass, President of the American National Pest Management Association (NPMA). Whilst Executive Vice Presidents of NPMA have visited Europe, this was the firsttime that an NPMA President had travelled to Europe.

    Mr Pass is the owner of Action Pest Control, Inc, whichoperates throughout Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois. He gave a presentation introducing the activities ofthe NPMA entitled: ‘Our Mission is Your Protection’.

    Marc Esculier, President of the French Pest Control Association provided an overview of activities inFrance in his presentation: ‘The French Pest Control Association: Activity Report – Regulation’.

    The President of the European association (CEPA), Bertrand Montmoreau, also attended the conference. Hecongratulated MaKOSZ on its 20th anniversary and expressed his appreciation of MaKOSZ’s contribution to the work of CEPA.

    Mr Montmoreau and Mr Pass also had discussions about possible co-operation betweenthe two regional associations.

    Pest control associations from the so called, ‘Visegrá¡d’ countries, were also present at the highest level: Vá¡clav Rupeš, member of the board of theCzech Republic Association, Mgr Wiktor Protas, President of the Polish Association and Dr Zdeno Jaško, President of the Slovakian Association were all in attendance to mark the occasion of MaKOSZ’s 20th anniversary.
