Probably the best yet. Visitors flocked to PestTech 2010

Held on 3 November at its usual venue of the National Motorcycle Museum, professional pest controllers from up and down the country descended upon PestTech in their hundreds. By lunchtime, NPTA had already run-out of their 1,000 delegate bags and estimated that by the end of the day around 1,200 visitors had signed-in.

As ever the exhibition was the main focus of activity. At times the number of visitors on the stands and within the aisles made it feel more like a crowd leaving a football match. But exhibitors rose to the challenge of seven hours non-stop talking about their products – the only ill effects being sore feet and hoarse voices!

But PestTech is more than just an exhibition. The technical workshops and practical outdoor events are always popular. A new addition this year was Dryair UK both demonstrating their heat treatments, but also explaining the theory indoors.

The Pest Control News workshop unveiled the Register and Accreditation of Metallic Phosphide Scheme (RAMPS) to somewhat of a mixed response – click here for a report.

The Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM) meeting was well supported (even by quite a few men!) who couldn’t but be impressed by the two accomplished speakers and their feathered friend. Click here to read more.

We at Pest publications were delighted to present our inaugural Best Product Award 2010. Voted for by Pest readers, the winner was Romax Rat CP from Barrettine. Click here for a full report and to see which products came second and third.

The day was rounded-off with the Pest Control News dinner. This was fun as ever, despite the after-dinner speaker who didn’t appeal to everyone. During the event, the 2010 crop of industry stalwarts were inducted into the Hall of Fame. To see who they were, click here.

Rather than write more commentary, below is a selection of pictures from the day – so let the pictures do the talking! But thanks all-round and congratulations to NPTA.
