A new independent digital news service for the UK pest management sector at staging.pestmagazine.co.uk went live today, Monday 15 December 2008.

This exciting development will soon be followed by the despatch of the first Pest+ e-news to registered readers.Pest+ and the staging.pestmagazine.co.uk website will be joined in the New Year by Pest magazine, a new full colour printed magazine packed with a mix of unbiased news, impartial advice and topical technical features from all sectors of the industry.

    And it’s FREE

All three elements in thePestpackage are available free of charge to everyone connected with pest control including, commercial pest control companies, Local Authority pest control units, facilities pest control, consultants, researchers, regulators, manufacturers and distributors.

“Anyone who hasn’t yet registered can do so by clicking here,” says Pest Editor Frances McKim.

Pest, the printed magazine, will be published every two months with the first issue hitting the streets in January 2009.Pest+will be emailed in the alternate months toPest, or more frequently to cover important breaking news.

The launch of Pestand Pest+means that for the first time in the UK there will be regular monthly news despatched directly to readers. “But that’s not all,” adds Frances. “As the news comes into the Pest office we will be posting items to our website. So, if you can’t wait for your monthly fix of Pest news then make staging.pestmagazine.co.uk your home page, or add it to your favourites for regular checking.”

Publishers, Frances McKim and Helen Riby, are already known to many in the sector. Frances has a particularly long association with pest management both in the UK and internationally. For the last 15 years she has been editor of Professional Pest Controller. Her achievements were recognised this November when she was included in the Pest Control News Hall of Fame 2008.

Helen Riby adds, “We have been overwhelmed by the hugely positive response we have received from all sectors of the industry so far. People are enthused by our independence and the prospect of getting news more frequently. We’d particularly like to thank the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) for providing us with the opportunity to introduce Pest and Pest+at the recent PestTech event when we were inundated with pest controllers signing up to receive their free copies.”
