Albany Pest Control has appointed Graeme Cleland as its new managing director following the retirement of Robin Paradise.

Mr Cleland joined the Chelmsford-based business, which is part of Orkin UK, at the end of July.

Founded in 1999, Albany provides pest management to many of the capital’s leading restaurants, bars and hotels as well as residential properties throughout Greater London.

Originally from New Zealand, Mr Cleland moved to the UK over 20 years ago after serving with the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He is a highly experienced and commercially driven executive with extensive experience in a range of industries including finance, medical, IT and telecoms, and has worked throughout Europe, North America and Asia.

Mr Cleland said: “I’m delighted to be joining Albany and Orkin UK. I have been aware of the company for several years and been impressed by the culture that clearly values and actively encourages colleagues to develop successful careers with Orkin UK.

“I want Albany to be all that it can be within the wider Orkin UK business. The brand has a great reputation and I hope to be able to build on the excellent work done to date.”

Albany is one of Orkin UK Service’s four principal brands: the other three being Guardian Legionella Services, NBC Environment and Safeguard Pest Control

Welcoming Mr Cleland to Orkin UK, managing director Kristian Dales, said: “I wish Graeme every success in his new role. His experience across a range of industries will be a valuable asset in helping continue the expansion of our Albany business.”
