Also a change of venue for the PCN dinner

With the relocation of PestTech 2017 to the Ricoh Arena, this meant the Pest Control News dinner also moved to the adjoining DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. As with the exhibition, this was a much larger venue and a great evening was had by all, as our report shows.
Well over 250 exhibitors and delegates rounded-off what had been a very busy day by attending the Pest Control News dinner. This was held in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel which made for an easy life for those who managed to get reservations in this hotel.

    Great Gatsby theme
The theme for the evening was the Great Gatsby and certainly several guests took this to heart and dressed accordingly. The pre-dinner drinks, sponsored by BASF, were held in a room overlooking the Ricoh pitch followed by dinner and a limited timed bar, sponsored by Bayer, in the main room.

After dinner entertainment came from Grouper, a four-piece contemporary band sponsored by Bell, which certainly went down well judging by the lively dancing. Do watch the video clip ast the very end of this page.

A charity raffle with great gifted prizes in aid of Water for Kids raised over £2,000, which Killgerm, as they traditionally do, doubled.

So, all in all, a good evening and congratulations to Sadie Baldwin and her team for all the organisation.

Maybe the only downside, as with the exhibition, was the price of everything. Bigger and better certainly seems to mean more expensive! The ticket prices themselves were 50% more than the previous year, there were no longer the BASF sponsored bottles of wine on the tables, and with the bar drinks the price they were, the sponsored bar didn’t last for very long!
