Exhibitors making their debut at PestTech

There is always a good mix of exhibitors at PestTech. Many of these our readers will be familiar with, but take time to drop-in and meet those companies attending for the very first time. Here we review those making their debut appearances.
When entering the exhibition at PestTech there is always a familiar feel, but take time to review this year’s exhibition layout throughout the three rooms as there have been some changes.

    First time exhibitors
When entering the exhibition at PestTech there is always a familiar feel, but take time to review this year’s exhibition layout throughout the three rooms as there have been some changes.

After registering the first set of new faces you will encounter in the Premier suite is Secomak (stand 15) with their portable heat treatment enclosure designed to combat bed bugs. Heat is increasingly becoming a popular answer when it comes to eliminating this pest from beds, bedding, possessions etc. An earlier version has been in use with one service provider for the last eight years, but an improved and patented version with novel features is now available for sale direct to pest controllers.

Also in the same hall you can find Wide Horizons (stand 17) with their drones. These are more than ‘toys’ as they are increasingly finding a very handy role within pest control – for example when surveying for bird control procedures – as detailed in an article in issue 41 of Pest.

Moving into the Compton suite, do call in on Fourteenacre Traps (stand 28). Fourteenacre is a small, family business created out of their own interest in traps and trap making. On display will be a selection of the large range of traps sold by this company. Visitors will be able to see, handle and ask questions about all the traps on display.‘

Jeremy Smith from Secomak and John Bryan of Fourteenacres are both part of the day’s seminar programme, whilst James Rawlings of Wide Horizons will be flying his drones outside, having had special permission granted by nearby Birmingham International airport.

Finally, in the third exhibition hall look out for Ground Control on stand 42. Their reasons for attending are very different as they are looking for pest control companies to partner them. Ground Control is an external solutions provider, offering a number of key services covering landscaping, grounds and tree maintenance, as well as pest control and pest auditing. They cater to multisite clients and work nationally.

As director Andrew Hollyer explains: “As our business expands we are always looking for new teams to join us and help deliver our outstanding service. If you are a pest control company holding BPCA Level 2 or RSPH Level 2 qualifications, Ground Control would love to speak to you.”

Familiar faces but first time at PestTech
Other first time exhibitors include Pest Trader (stand 5) with their range of Bird Barrier and Exosex products, MouseStop (stand 24) with its animal-friendly exclusion paste and also Hockley International (stand 39) who will be displaying three of their latest insecticide products. All three of these were present at PestEx 2015 this spring, but are making their first appearances at PestTech.
