The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has published a summary of the responses submitted by stakeholders on the proposed environmental risk mitigation strategies associated with the use of second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs).
The summary of these responses released by HSE to stakeholders on 15 March, and subsequently made more generally available, records the comments from stakeholders on proposals for environmental risk mitigation measures to be imposed in the UK on rodenticide bait products based on difethialone, difenacoum, bromadiolone, brodifacoum and flocoumafen.

This report is the result of the request made by HSE in August 2012 when comments were requested from stakeholders – see background here. In total 50 responses were received from stakeholders along with three documents from non-governmental/academic organisations and one from a wildlife organisation commenting on SGAR label phrases. The document summaries the response to each of the five options represented, identifies which type of stakeholder favoured which option and details those additional comments made. A summary of the 50 responses submitted by stakeholders is available for download – click here. However it lives up to its title – it is a summary – there are no recommendations. The next stage of the process is to hold a meeting on 23 April in the Merseyside area with stakeholders. |
