The industry is mourning the death of pest management consultant and industry stalwart, John Hope.

John worked in the industry for over 30 years, and recently set up ACT; his auditing, consultancy and training company. Previously he was the technical manager of the National Pest Technician’s Association (NPTA).

In a statement, the NPTA said: “It is with great sadness the NPTA wishes to announce John Hope’s passing. John died in hospital on Sunday, February 19, after a short illness.

“John played a big part in the NPTA family since joining us on July 16, 2018. He was pivotal in providing the NPTA membership with training, as well as quality technical support and guidance throughout his time with us. He will be a great loss to us and the pest control industry.”

BPCA head of technical, Dee Ward-Thompson, who worked with John for many years, said: “John had so much passion for the pest control industry. He passed this on to the many people who had the pleasure of being trained by him or sought his advice over the years.

“John will be deeply missed. He is a massive loss to the pest control industry.”

The industry’s thoughts are with his wife Julie, and their family and friends at this time. John and his passion for the industry will be sadly missed by many.

    Rest in peace, John.
