PelGar to end its Church Farm operations

After five years of operation, PelGar has announced that it is to cease its operations at Church Farm Training Centre, near Basingstoke.

During this time, in addition to being a training venue for pest controllers, the facility has been the centre for PelGar’s insecticide efficacy testing and provided a base for its rodenticide field trials.

PelGar said it had made the strategic decision to move it’s research and development and insecticide testing programmes to a purpose-built suite of test rooms and insectaries at its head office site in Alton.

Vertebrate field trials will continue to be run under the PelGar ORETA licence, supported by the technical team based at the Alton site.

Looking ahead, PelGar said it will continue to provide technical support to the industry through webinars, presentations and literature, but will no longer provide a physical training venue such as that provided by Church Farm.

In a statement, the company said: “PelGar would like to thank the support and assistance provided by Dr Steve Havers over the last five years and wish him all the best with developing the Church Farm Training Centre in the future.

“The company would also like to thank and recognise the efforts of the dedicated team that has run the facility during this time. PelGar operations will cease on the site during November 2020.”
